Accompanying Sweet Factory is All Sweetness and Light, an exhibition that brings together works from Grundy Art Gallery’s own light art collection and light-based works on loan from public and private collections. Variously, these works tell stories of class, community and personal identity.
All Sweetness and Light features works by Chila Kumari Singh Burman, Jack Brown, Jeremy Deller, Cerith Wyn Evans, Tony Heaton, Chloe Macfarlane, LeftCoast with Samantha Jones, Ecaterina Stefanescu and residents of Grange Park, Blackpool.
In 2026, Blackpool’s Stanley Park turns 100. To mark this occasion, Grundy is exhibiting BLACKPOOL STANDS BETWEEN US AND REVOLUTION (2022) by Tom Ireland. Part of Grundy’s collection of light works, this piece is a large scale rendering of a quote attributed to an anonymous local businessman, in conversation with Stanley Park’s designer Thomas Hayton Mawson (1861 – 1933).
